Maintenance Tips
Do not paint a cedar wood fence, if you choose to stain it, you will need to reapply the stain from time to time. Some experts recommend pressure washing or hand washing your fence every three to five years to keep it in top shape.
Cedar Wood Fence Q & A
They last 20+ years. We use cedar wood, the same wood used for wood roofs and house siding.
The sun colors it over time but you may like the sun faded look. Otherwise, splinters can be a concern and do not light a fire next to your fence!
Cedar wood fence left unstained will last 20+ years. We do not recommend staining your fence. Once you stain your fence you will have to apply the stain again every couple of years. Cedar wood fences are best left untreated and unstained.

Softwood like pinewood would need to be treated, however, we recommend using cedar wood because it lasts longer, looks better and does not need to be treated.
